At Aglow, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use Aglow to connect with your community, discover events, and purchase tickets. Aglow is operated by Aglow Life LLC, 1770 Post Street, PO Box #140, San Francisco, CA 94115.

1. information we collect

we collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:

• personal information — when you sign up or purchase a ticket, we may collect your name, email address, and phone number. your name is collected from your payment method (apple pay, google pay, or credit card). your phone number is collected during checkout — automatically through apple pay or google pay, or via an optional field if you pay by card manually.
• payment information — payments are processed by stripe. aglow does not store your credit card number, cvv, or expiration date. stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled (stripe.com/privacy).
• content and activity — content you create and share on aglow, including posts, comments, messages, photos, video, and audio, and your interactions with other users.
• camera and microphone — with your permission, aglow accesses your device's camera and microphone so you can capture and send video and audio content within the app.
• usage data — information about how you use the app, including features accessed, settings chosen, and other engagement metrics.
• device information — device details such as ip address, operating system, and device model, used to help improve performance and security.
• location data — with your permission, we may access your location to provide location-based features, such as nearby events.
• event information — when you create, rsvp to, purchase tickets for, or check in to events on aglow, we collect details such as event preferences, attendance history, and ticket/order information.

2. how we use your information

aglow uses your information to:

• provide and personalize our services based on your preferences and activity
• process ticket purchases, issue qr code tickets, and send order confirmations
• communicate with you about updates, new features, and promotional offers — including via sms/text message, where you've opted in
• send you event-related notifications, reminders, updates, and invitations
• analyze usage trends to improve app functionality and user experience
• detect, prevent, and address security or technical issues
• enforce our terms of service and protect the safety of our users and community

3. events and ticketing

aglow lets you discover, purchase tickets for, and check in to events hosted by venues and organizers on the platform. in connection with events, we use your information to:

• recommend events based on your interests, location, and activity
• generate a qr code ticket tied to your order for entry
• share your name and relevant order/check-in information with the event organizer or venue for the specific event you've purchased a ticket to or rsvp'd for, so they can check you in and communicate with you about that event
• send you reminders, updates, and follow-ups related to events you've expressed interest in

event organizers and venues may access attendee information only for their own events, and only for the purposes of check-in and event-related communication. organizers may not use attendee information for unrelated marketing, resale, or sharing with outside parties.

ticket payments are passed through to aglow via stripe; aglow retains a service fee on each transaction, and the remainder is remitted to the venue or organizer in accordance with our agreement with them.

4. payments

ticket and order payments on aglow are processed by stripe, a third-party payment processor. aglow does not store your credit card number, cvv, or expiration date. stripe is pci-dss compliant, and their privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled. for more information, visit stripe.com/privacy.

5. information sharing and disclosure

we do not sell your personal information to third parties. we may share your information in the following cases:

• with your consent — we may share your information with third parties if you've given explicit consent.
• event organizers — as described in section 3, limited to check-in and communication for the specific event.
• service providers — we work with third-party vendors, including stripe (payments) and twilio (sms delivery), to operate, maintain, and improve the app. these providers have limited access to your information and are bound by privacy and data-processing agreements.
• legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid request from a court or government agency.
• business transfers — if aglow is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

we will not share your phone number or sms opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

6. anonymization and security of contact information

where feasible, we take steps to limit and anonymize the contact information we retain, and we do not sell personal information, including contact details, to third parties.

7. california residents (ccpa)

if you are a california resident, you have the following rights under the california consumer privacy act:

• the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share
• the right to request deletion of your personal information
• the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights

8. data security

we take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. we use cloudflare turnstile to help protect our forms from spam and abuse; your use of turnstile is also subject to cloudflare's turnstile privacy policy.

9. data retention

we retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. when no longer needed, your data will be securely deleted or anonymized.

10. children's privacy

aglow is not intended for users under the age of 13. we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. if we learn that we've collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

11. changes to this privacy policy

we may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. we'll notify you of significant updates through the app or by email. continued use of aglow after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
